Privacy policy
Basil is a personal-finance app made by Komodo AI. This page explains what Basil collects, why, and who helps us run it.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and sign-in details, handled by our sign-in provider.
- Financial data you connect: account names, balances, transactions and investment holdings, received read-only through Plaid. We never receive your bank username or password.
- What you tell Basil: category changes, budgets, and the questions you ask Basil.
How we use it
Only to run Basil for you: building your ledger, reports, budgets, bill reminders and answers. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use your data to market other products to you.
Who helps us run Basil

How we protect it
Each member's data is stored separately and every request is checked against your sign-in. Bank access tokens are encrypted. Access is read-only, so Basil cannot move money.
Your choices
You can disconnect a bank at any time. To delete your Basil account and data, write to hello@basilmoney.app; self-serve export and deletion are coming to the app.
