Delete your Basil Money account

You can delete your account and everything Basil keeps about you at any time, from the app or the web. It happens right away and can't be undone.

In the app (iPhone or Android)

1. Open Basil Money and sign in.
2. Tap Accounts at the top.
3. Scroll to Your data and tap Delete my account…
4. Type DELETE to confirm.

On the web

1. Sign in at dev.basilmoney.app (the web app during early access) with the same email.
2. Open Accounts → Your data and choose Delete my account…
3. Type DELETE and choose Erase my account.

What gets deleted

• Every bank connection is disconnected from Plaid, so Basil can no longer read those accounts.
• Your transactions, balances, investments, budgets, goals, tags, notes, letters and Basil's notes about you.
• Every receipt photo you uploaded.

If Plaid can't confirm a bank was disconnected, nothing is deleted and you can try again, so a bank link is never left behind. Want a copy first? Your data also lets you download your ledger as a spreadsheet (CSV) or everything as JSON.

Can't sign in?

Email hello@basilmoney.app from the address you signed up with and we'll delete your account for you.
